River Goyt Tree problems

We have been advised that there are a number of trees across the river Goyt downstream of New Mills some of which could be dangerous. They are apparently secured in place with steel cables so will make enquiries if these are due to be removed.
Please take care if paddling this section which does require some recent rain to make it worthwhile too.
