18th January 2010
This trip is provided by The Old Vicarage Centre.
Welcome to the best of rain and cloud forest kayaking. The rivers of Ecuador are exceptional. Remote and beautiful, they put the 'c' in continuous. Our goal is to maximize your fun and eliminate the hassle -- without insulating you from the adventure. We take care to provide you
with excellent lodging, delicious meals, and the kayak of your choice. We handle all the river logistics and smooth out unplanned occurrences while individualizing our guiding style to fit your needs. Your day is filled with great kayaking. If playing on warm, tropical rivers with a small,
cohesive group is your ideal way to spend the winter; this is the trip for you!
Ecuador is one of the most species-rich nations in the world with a diverse cultural heritage, spectacular terrain and wonderful rivers. This combination makes for a truly unique kayaking vacation. To take advantage of the variety of white water and the best water levels, we paddle in two separate drainages. Travel between these areas is minimal so we get to kayak every single day. We'll run tributaries of the Amazon, continuous Andean creeks and big water, drop-pool play runs. You'll find lush jungle canyons and lightly populated valleys full of birds, butterflies and orchids.
Nowhere else on earth will you find so much natural diversity in such a tiny place. Ecuador is the second smallest country in South America situated on the equator, and offers an outstanding variety of things to do and see.In one days drive you can journey from the Amazon basin across glaciated Andean volcanoes, down through tropical cloud forest to the sunset on the pacific coast! You could be viewing the delights of the indigenous markets and then the next day be hot and humid viewing monkeys in the Amazon jungles of the Oriente, or lying in the natural hot springs.
